We offer sport-specific support to teams and individual athletes competing at the highest level.

Ten of our performance sport teams are headed by dedicated performance coaches, with specialist conditioning, medical and advisory back-up. This is designed to allow University of Edinburgh teams to compete at the highest level in national leagues, as well as British Universities and Scottish Universities championships. We also offer essential sporting and academic support for student athletes who compete in an individual capacity.  We have supported athletes from a wide range of sports including Athletics, Golf, Squash, Canoeing and Diving and will consider applications for any sport.

Performance Basketball Women aims to create a women’s basketball programme to match our world class academic standings.

The University of Edinburgh’s Endurance Running Academy was set up in partnership with Scottish Athletics to provide a performance development programme for athletes competing in middle & long distance track, cross country, road, and mountain running.

The fencing programme is a balance between sport-specific strength & conditioning and fencing specific training.

Each year Edinburgh University Men's Hockey Club selects 18 players to be part of the Team Performance Programme.
