Students, prospective students and alumni of The University of Edinburgh shine for Scottish fencing teams. Image The University of Edinburgh were well represented in Scotland’s Team for the 2023 5-Nations which took place on Saturday 18 November. Students Ellen Buckley and Mhairi Mclaughlin, members of the University Women’s 1st Team, made up half of the 4-strong Women’s Foil Team that defeated England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Ireland to win their discipline. Team Captain was Edinburgh University Alumni Katie Smith and the 4th member of the Team has applied to Edinburgh to start next September – an Edinburgh Full House! Other University fencers represented Scotland with Zoe Counter and Isaac McKerr in the Women’s and Men’s Epée Teams.
