University of Edinburgh athletes from a range of sports enjoyed a magnificent array of success over the weekend. Image A new European Champion crowned At the European Cross Championships in Dublin, Individual Performance scholar and Applied Sport Science Student, Megan Keith, became u20 European Champion with a fantastic Gold medal. Image British Senior judo medals Three of our Judo Individual Performance Scholar athletes, Kirsty Marsh (Law), Dylan Munro (English Literature and History) and Chris Kumesu-Egri (Mechanical Engineering with Management) competed at the Senior British Championships in Sheffield with each secured a medal in their event. Kirsty Marsh (-52kg) – Silver Dylan Munro (-60kg) – Silver Chris Kumesu-Egri (-90kg) – Bronze Record breaking swimming performances At the Scottish Swimming Winter Short Course Meet, there were also some brilliant results from our athletes. The highlights included 15 titles, 2 Scottish Club Relay records (4 x 50m Mixed Free and 4 x 50m Mixed Medley) and two National Records. Image Scott Gibson became the first Scottish man to break the 24 second mark in the 50m Back, with a time of 23.94. Ioanna Sacha broke the Greek 200m Back record with a time of 2:07:7. Associated athlete Stephen Clegg also had a magnificent meet, breaking S12 world records in 3 events.
