Grace Reid is one of Scotland’s, and Great Britain’s, most decorated divers. A specialist in the 1m and 3m springboard disciplines she is a double Olympian and double Commonwealth Game and European Championship gold medallist.

A Sports Science student, Grace has been supported by the University’s Performance Sport Programme since 2014 and is one of a selected group of athletes to have been awarded the Eva Bailey Cup for Female Athlete of the Year twice (2014/15 and 2021/22).

She is a Scottish Champion across multiple age groups, a 3-time British Champion, 7-time British Silver medallist and has excelled on the European and World Stage. She has also represented Great Britain at two Olympic Games, finishing in 8th place in the 3m Springboard at Rio 2016 and in 6th place in the 3m Synchro at the Toyko 2020 Games.

At the 2016 European Championships she became the first Scot to win an individual diving medal for GB since 1954, with a bronze in 3m springboard, whilst also winning gold in the 3m Mixed Synchro, with partner Tom Daley. At the 2018 Championships she partnered with Ross Haslam in the 3m Mixed Synchro, winning silver, and won a magnificent gold in the 3m Springboard. In 2022 she secured her 5th and 6th European Championship medals with bronze in the team event and silver in the 3m Mixed Synchro, with James Heatly. Grace has had serial success at the World Championships. As well as finishing within the top 8 every year since 2017, she won silver in the 3m Mixed Synchro with Tom Daley in 2017 and bronze in the same event, with James Heatly in 2022.

It is perhaps her performances on the Commonwealth stage for which Grace is best known. Following her debut at just 14 in Delhi 2010, where she placed 6th in the 3m Springboard, she has gone onto represent Scotland at a further 3 games, in Glasgow 2014, The Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022.

At the 2018 Games, she become the first Scottish female diver to win a medal at the games, with a magnificent gold in the 1m springboard event. At the 2022 Games, although narrowly missing out on an individual medal in the 1m Springboard, placing fourth, Grace won a sensational second Commonwealth title in the 3m Mixed Synchro with partner James Healty.

Grace is an inspirational, history making, role model for all young athletes who has been consistently successful on the domestic and international stage
