Julie Ann Fooshee, University of Edinburgh Sport & Exercise staff, and Equestrian Club, member, has been awarded the 2024 Edinburgh University Student Association Outstanding Contribution to Community Wellbeing Award for the "Cards for Care Homes" project. The project aims to bring some cheer to the local Edinburgh community and to help brighten the day of care home residents, and especially those who might be isolated or lonely during the festive season. Image This year Julie Ann, with the help of the University Equestrian and Snow Sports Clubs and, students from across the University and staff members from University Sport & Exercise and Edinburgh University Sports Union staff, wrote and delivered 2000 Christmas cards to Care Homes across the city. This award recognises the amazing positive impact the project had on facility residents and staff, as well as the community of students who came together to write the cards.
