Four athletes with a connection to the University have been selected to take part in the Team Scotland 2022 Achieve programme. The programme which will offer a multi-games experience at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth games is designed to propel more future stars into sporting success, whilst helping them develop a host of vital and transferrable skills. Travelling to Birmingham in two groups, the participants will get a feel for a large Games environment, from attending sport sessions to taking part in bespoke workshops. They will be supported by a network of mentors with an impressive range of backgrounds and experiences to call on. Two of programme mentors also have a strong connection to the University. Alumna, performance scholar athlete, and double Commonwealth Games bronze medal winning shooter Seonaid McIntosh is joined by PHD Student (Sport, Physical Education and Health Sciences) Ross Walker. The scheme is supported by the Team Scotland Youth Trust and sportscotland.
