Edinburgh Strengthens Sport & Active Wellbeing Leadership with Key Appointment

The University of Edinburgh is delighted to announce the appointment of Greg McEwan as the permanent Head of Commercial Business for Sport & Active Wellbeing, following a comprehensive external recruitment process.

Greg McEwan brings over 25 years of experience in marketing communications and business development. His distinguished career includes senior roles at leading UK marketing firms, Commercial Director and Interim CEO at Hibernian Football Club, and a key marketing position at The R&A where he worked on The Open Championship. Alongside his new role, Greg will continue to lead the McEwan Marketing Group on his non-University days.Mark Munro, Director of Sport & Active Health at the university was pleased with the appointment,

Greg will officially join the University of Edinburgh on February 1, 2025, as part of the Senior Leadership Team for Sport & Active Wellbeing. In his role, he will oversee both the Communications and Marketing team and the Business Development team, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation.This appointment is part of a broader strategic review aimed at strengthening the future of Sport & Active Wellbeing.
