Team GB Women’s hockey squad picked up a much needed victory over South Arica yesterday following defeats in their opening two Olympics group matches. It was another tight affair and Team GB fell behind in the 6th minute but quickly bounced back when Associated Athlete Amy Costello levelled the match with a composed finish in the 19th minute. GB picked up the crucial decisive goal in the second half to secure the points and maintain hopes of qualification to the knock out stages. Amy and Sarah Robertson are back in action on Saturday when they face Argentina, 24 hours before their final group match against the USA. Today, we see Oli Wilkes go for a medal in Rowing in the Men’s Fours Final at 11am and Seonaid McIntosh going in the qualification for the 50m rifle 3 position at the same time. Good luck to both.
