The University of Edinburgh Performance Swimming Team delivered outstanding performances at this weekend's British Universities and Colleges Sport Longcourse Championships. Our athletes showcased world-class swimming, setting several BUCS Records, achieving national honours, and returning with an impressive medal haul. Faye Rogers led the charge with record-breaking performances in the para 100m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, and 200m Butterfly. Archie Goodburn made headlines by setting a Scottish Record in the 50m Breaststroke, also achieving the second-fastest British time in history, behind Adam Peaty. Ciara Schlosshan excelled with a record in the 200m Butterfly.The team's success translated into an outstanding medal haul: Archie secured gold in both the 50m and 100m Breaststroke, while Ciara and Faye dominated the Butterfly events, each earning multiple golds. Silver medals were awarded to Brodie Gordon Gibson in the 100m Butterfly and Anna Morgan in both the 50m and 100m Breaststroke, with the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay also placing second. Bronze honours were claimed by Calum Rose, Anna Morgan, Drew McKenzie, Morgan Brophy, and the Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay team.To round off the weekend, Archie Goodburn received the Top Male Performance of the Meet, and Faye Rogers was honoured with Top Female Para Performance, bringing the team to new heights.These results are reflected on the European stage, following her impressive swim this weekend, Ciara Schlosshan is now ranked 1st in the 100m Butterfly, leading by 0.4 seconds, 2nd in the 200m Butterfly, and 4th in the 50m Butterfly. Anna Morgan ranks in the top 10 in the 50m, 100m, and 200m Breaststroke, and Archie Goodburn holds the 1st European rank in the 50m Breaststroke, as well as 6th in the 100m.These achievements underscore the remarkable progression of performance sport at Edinburgh University and the world-class level of our swimmers.
