International swimmer Archie Goodburn is one of Scotland’s most accomplished breaststroke swimmers. He has excelled across junior and senior international competition, becoming a Scottish record holder and one of Britain’s leading performers, combining elite sport with academic distinction in chemical engineering.

He has represented Great Britain and Scotland on the world stage, winning medals at the European Short Course Championships and European U23 Championships, alongside a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships. His performances at junior level also include multiple podium finishes at the European Junior Championships, highlighting his early promise and consistent progression through the ranks.

At senior level, Archie is a European silver medallist and has represented GB at the World Championships, further cementing his status among the top swimmers on the international stage. He has won four medals at British Championships, becoming British champion in 2023, while also reaching the semi-finals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. He holds the Scottish record in the 50m breaststroke, underlining his standing among the country’s leading swimmers

Alongside his sporting success, Archie has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement as a student of Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. He is a recipient of the University’s prestigious Principal’s Medal and the André Reibig Memorial Medal through the Winning Students 100 programme.
